Dish towel, originally designed for the education space of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. The towel shows an impression of Rotterdam and is called Cityscape in Rotterdam with the tower of the Sint Laurens church and painted around 1660.
The painting was once wrongly attributed to Pieter de Hooch, the Rotterdam painter De Jongh was also named as the maker. No one believes that anymore. Now it is actually nameless again, but that does not make it any less original or mysterious... the boy in the boat, the woman on the shore... In reflection Studio Makkink & Bey tells a story with illustrations and word art woven into the towel.
