terms and conditions
These terms of sale and delivery apply to all items offered in the Studio Makkink & Bey webshop.
In this webshop we sell our designs. All products are made in an art studio or in small craftsman shops, not in a factory. We believe in producing on a small scale and craftsmanship. Everything is produced and arranged by a handful of people. We do not have large inventories and sometimes your order is not immediately ready to ship straight away.
ownership
The Studio Makkink & Bey shop is managed by Belle X-1 bv (a Studio Makkink & Bey company) with a Shopify webshop account and follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a law that expands the definition of Personal Data for users in the European Union.
purchase price
The prices mentioned in our webshop are including 21% VAT, but transport costs and import duties are not yet included. These costs are calculated when finishing the order in our webshop. We may increase our prices once every year once we know the costs for production, raw materials or taxes have increased.
ownership
Products remain the property of Studio Makkink & Bey until a 100% payment has been made.
payment
Unless otherwise stated, the items bought in the Studio Makkink & Bey webshop are to be paid when ordering, so in advance. We will not send out any item before payment is stated in our bank account.
deliveries
Once you have ordered your items in our webshop, we will await the credit on our bank account and will only then process your order. Some of our products are delivered out of our stocks, but for other products there is a delivery time. If so, we have indicate this in our product details.
We will send out the orders once every week, so sometimes it will take a bit longer before receiving your order. Shipping is done from our studio in Rotterdam. We ship to all countries around the globe, delivery time depends on your location. Sometimes orders take a longer time to reach you, under approval of unforeseen circumstances such as import duties.
All transport costs and custom charges will not be reimbursed by Studio Makkink & Bey once you decide to return the goods. After sending out your order you will receive information on the delivery of your package. You will receive a tracking code by e-mail.
product consistency
All items in the Studio Makkink & Bey webshop are handmade: every item is unique and one of a kind. We also use natural materials. Color differences, differences in structure and appearance may appear. This is a feature we value. Studio Makkink & Bey can not guarantee the item you receive is exactly the same as shown on the images in our webshop. This also means that when you order 2 or more, the appearance will most certainly differ. However, every item does - of course - meet our quality standards.
returns
Studio Makkink & Bey strives to supply first quality products. However, if you feel the quality is not to your expectations, or for any other reasons, you may return your items to Studio Makkink & Bey within 14 calendar days after delivery. We do not refund shipping costs. We do not accept returns on personalized or made to measure items.
You will have to pay for the transport costs for the return yourself. Please note that while the items are in your possession, you are responsible for keeping them safe, secure and in good condition. After we have received your returns in good condition and undamaged, we will reimburse your payment, excluding the initial transport costs.

warranty
If a defect occurs, after normal usage, handling and/or assembly of the item, the warranty is limited to a period of 6 months. After occurrence please contact us at sales@studiomakkinkbey.nl to let us know what the defect is, preferrably with some images to indicate what is wrong and we will contact you about the next steps. The item(s) might have to be send back to Studio Makkink & Bey for investigation to determine if warranty is applicable.
responsibility
Studio Makkink & Bey is not liable for the buyer’s actual use of the products and is not liable for any (indirect) damage or loss arising out of the buyer’s incorrect or unusual use or application of the products. We are not liable for any defects as a result of transportation, storage, faulty treatment and negligence of third parties.
force majeure
Neither the buyer nor Studio Makkink & Bey as supplier have any influence on unforeseen events. In case of trade disputes and unforeseen events such as fire, immense currency changes, strikes, insufficient transportation, shortage of materials, a pandemic etc. Studio Makkink & Bey will contact the buyer in order to inform and to negotiate the follow-up.
